Own Touch Soccer Home School Academy Training Pods

Daytime soccer development for home-schooled players in Charlotte, in small pods for ages 8-11 and 12 and up.

The idea

Train during the day. Build your game with purpose.

Consistent, high-quality training built into the weekly schedule, not squeezed into crowded evenings.

Home-schooled athletes have the flexibility to train during the day, but few have access to a structured environment that uses that time well. The pods solve that: small groups, focused coaching, technical repetition, and a curriculum built around long-term growth.

This is not just extra soccer. It is structured development built into the school week.

Why it works

A smarter training rhythm

Pods run weekly, so players build rhythm, and rhythm is where real growth happens.

More touches
Time on the ball every session, not a share of a crowded evening.
More repetition
The same work often enough for it to hold.
More feedback
Small groups mean a coach sees every rep.
More understanding
Room to explain the why, not just the drill.
Room for mistakes
Space to get it wrong and work back through it.
No evening squeeze
Training sits inside the school day instead of after it.

Consistent work. Clear feedback. Focused repetition. Better habits.

The curriculum

What happens inside a pod

An extension of the Own Touch development model: master the ball first, then express it in the game.

  1. Technical skill

Ball mastery, first touch, dribbling, passing, receiving, turning, finishing, and confidence in possession.

  2. Soccer IQ

Reading pressure, understanding space, and connecting technique to real game situations.

  3. Positional habits

Movement, body shape, spacing, and decisions for the positions they play, introduced in age-appropriate ways.

  4. Small-group attention

Intentionally limited pods mean more direct feedback and coaching detail per player.

  5. Physical preparation

Soccer-specific movement, coordination, balance, speed mechanics, and body control.

  6. Accountability

Players take ownership of their training habits, effort, preparation, and consistency.

Who should join

A strong fit for

  1. Home-schooled Charlotte players who want more soccer built into their week

  2. Competitive players looking for more training consistency

  3. Players who need more technical repetition

  4. Families who want to reduce evening schedule stress

  5. Players preparing for club, school, academy, or future higher-level opportunities

  6. Athletes who benefit from small-group coaching and direct feedback

This is not casual childcare or open gym time. It is a focused training environment for players who want to improve.
